Communication Coaching with Bruno

EXPERIENCE

Hi, I’m Bethany. If you’ve ever struggled to find the right words to resolve conflict or break out of an unhealthy cycle, you’re not alone. I coach communication and mediate because effective communication tools, when guided with intention, can open space for change. I know this intimately—because there was a time when speaking felt like a risk. I’ve stayed silent in rooms where my voice trembled just beneath the surface. I’ve misunderstood others and been misunderstood. I’ve fumbled through conflict in high-conflict relationships, carrying tools that weren’t yet enough to meet the moment. Over time, I gathered those tools through trial, study, and lived experience, including strategies for emotional regulation. I mediate because I know how painful disconnection and disagreement can be—and how powerful it is to find your way through. Conflict, when met with clarity and compassion, can become a doorway to deeper understanding. It’s not just about resolution—it’s about reclamation. It’s where transformation begins.

EDUCATION

While my personal journey has shaped the heart of my approach, I believe that true qualification comes from both experience and education. That’s why I completed the Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching program through Harvard Medical School. This advanced training provided me with a curriculum, expert guidance, and practical tools, including effective communication tools, to help clients create sustainable, meaningful change in their lives. I’ve also deepened my understanding of presence, attention, and emotional regulation through my study in Mindfulness Education via Brown University online. These training sessions continue to inform how I support clients in areas like equanimity and navigating high-conflict relationships. I’m here to support you with both empathy and evidence-based strategies so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose. I have obtained my Certified Professional Life Coach (C.P.C.) and Master Certified Life Coach (M.C.L.C.) from the Certified Life Coach Institute (C.L.C.I.). I am currently working on the requirements to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). In addition, I have two undergraduate degrees in engineering, a master's degree in systems engineering, and a graduate certificate in program management. My background as a seasoned technical leader gives me a 'systems thinking' mindset. I can break down complex problems into manageable parts, which helps me coach and mediate effectively. I am skilled at analyzing interpersonal dynamics, identifying root causes of conflict, and designing strategies for resolution. I also strive for clarity under pressure, allowing me to communicate clearly in high-stakes situations to help you navigate emotionally-charged conversations. Furthermore, my engineering background has taught me how to innovate within limits, a skill that has proven invaluable when coaching clients through toxic or challenging relationship dynamics.

EXPERTISE

I began coaching in 2019, mediating in 2023, and formally launched BRUNO in 2024. My clients have included both men and women navigating difficult dynamics with a parent, child, co-parent, or colleague. Clients typically come to me when communication with a specific person in their life has become tense, confusing, overwhelming, or stalled. We work together to reduce conflict, clarify boundaries, and restore a sense of control using effective communication tools. Once those initial goals are met, many clients choose to continue on an as-needed basis, building out their communication toolbox.

One of BRUNO’s core specialties is supporting people who are communicating with individuals who exhibit high-conflict or narcissistic traits. These high-conflict relationships can be especially draining and disorienting, but with the right tools, they become manageable. I’ve helped clients learn how to set boundaries, practice emotional regulation, stay grounded, and speak with clarity in the face of manipulation or emotional volatility. This work is challenging; it’s also transformative.

BRUNO Defined: The Principles Behind the Name

More than an acronym, BRUNO embodies an identity; a new way of life that focuses on enhancing communication skills and improving emotional regulation in high-conflict relationships. Each letter of BRUNO represents a defining principle that reinforces confident and effective communication tools.

The word BOLD displayed prominently with a large translucent B in the background.

To be bold is to step into the world with courage and conviction, essential traits for effective communication skills. This boldness serves as one of the vital communication tools that enable individuals to navigate high-conflict relationships. It’s the refusal to shrink in the face of challenge, the willingness to speak truth even when it trembles, and the power to stand out without apology. In interpersonal relationships, boldness is crucial, especially when navigating conflict resolution or learning how to communicate with a narcissistic partner. Additionally, developing emotional regulation enhances this boldness, making it the spark that ignites transformation and paves the way for rebuilding trust after betrayal.

Word resilient with letter R behind on zig zag background.

Resilience reflects the quiet strength that rebuilds after the storm, much like effective communication tools help mend interpersonal relationships. It’s the ability to bend without breaking and to fall with grace and rise again. A resilient soul not only carries the wisdom of every wound but also understands the importance of emotional regulation and conflict resolution, especially when learning how to communicate with a narcissistic partner in high-conflict relationships. This determination to keep moving forward, no matter how heavy the past, is essential for rebuilding trust after betrayal.

Word unbreakable with letter U behind on zig zag background.

Unbreakable means forged in fire and tempered by experience. It’s not about being untouched by hardship, but about being shaped by it into something stronger. This spirit, much like effective communication tools, cannot be shattered; it endures, adapts, and thrives. In high-conflict relationships, facing challenges can lead to conflict resolution and enhance our emotional regulation, teaching us how to communicate with a difficult person. Ultimately, it’s about the resilience to rebuild trust after pain or betrayal.

Word nurtured with letter N behind on zig zag background.

Nurtured speaks to growth through care, reflection, and healing, which are essential components for developing strong communication tools and skills. It’s the process of tending to one’s own soul, learning from pain, and watering the roots of self-worth, all of which are vital in interpersonal relationships. A nurtured heart blooms with wisdom, compassion, and quiet power, traits that can aid in conflict resolution and understanding how to communicate effectively in high-conflict relationships. Additionally, emotional regulation is crucial when rebuilding trust after betrayal.

Word optimistic with letter O behind on zig zag background.

Being optimistic is like being the light that refuses to go out, shining brightly even in the darkest times. It's the belief in better days and the foundation of strong communication skills, particularly vital in high-conflict relationships. To embrace optimism is to choose hope, to see beauty in the broken, and to trust that every ending carries the seed of a new beginning. This positive mindset is essential when learning how to use communication tools effectively during or after challenges, such as engaging in effective conflict resolution. Ultimately, rebuilding trust after betrayal requires a commitment to hope, emotional regulation, and the belief that brighter days are ahead.
